Our shore plant at Hnifsdalsbryggja in Hnifsdalur processes iced fish, mostly from cod. In connection with the processing at Hnifsdalur we also process IQF fillets and other cod products. We also process at our satellite facility at Ishusfelagid in Isafjordur.
We employ about 70 persons of various nationalities. At Hnifsdalur we process fresh, frozen and lightly salted products for a variety of markets, both in Europe and North America. In addition to fresh fish, our products include individually frozen and plate frozen whole fillets and portions. The ground fish supply benefits from our location near rich fishing grounds and our vessels typically land their catch twice weekly to ensure peak raw material freshness for our plant.
